those "slave headdresses" hank and dean are wearing are their shirts. both boys are shirtless, hank's still got his kerchief and his white shirt is on his head; dean's sweatervest is still wrapped around his shirt, tied to his head.
the "Avon Ladies" with Tesla are probably using Rolls-Royce Avon jet-packs, based on the Tesla Turbine. not sure if this is correct, but the names and the timing are kinda right the episode (i bet he has some lightning ray, too. better than the one The Monarch had).

Eugen Sandow went on to become a chocolatier later in life, and apparently recorded some recipes on the second cylinder.
also, Tesla was a figure of his own merit. the DH/JP love of david bowie and his portrayal of Tesla notwithstanding, i don't think that he's in this has anything to do with their bowiefanboyness.
