Also another fun fact. A sidecar, the drink Dr. Venture orders at the opened bar:

2 oz Cognac
1oz Lemon juice
1oz Cointreau

It is one of the girliest drinks I have ever heard of. I guess one would NEED a double to get drunk enough to accuse your father's best friends of accidentally killing him tho.

Though I have watched all the season one commentaries, I don't expressly recall them saying that. However. If I absorbed it through commentary or all the implications of his character, I don't know. But it doesn't make it any less hilarious.

Yeah throughout the series he has ordered a ton of girly drinks. the only other one I can recall offhand is a rob roy (in Mid-life Chrysalis) but I am sure there are at least one or two other instances where he's ordered something supremely girly, though a sidecar is pretty impressively girly. also worth noting is that you are supposed to serve it in a sugar-rimmed glass.

Roy Roys and Sidecars used to be manly drinks. That's part of the gag. He's so out of the loop he doesn't realize that nobody drinks those anymore.

I really don't think a Rob Roy is a girl drink at all. Yeah, it comes with a cherry in it, but if you drink three or four of those you're going to have serious trouble staying upright.

(As I learned the very, very hard way.)
