Many of the orphans are dressed as characters from VH1 Classic music videos. Aside from Keith Flint and Art of Noise, the guy in the pointy hat has David Bowie's outfit from "Ashes to Ashes," and another---as Rusty notes---on wears the white suit and circular glasses from The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star." I seem to recognize the outfit with the red jacket (it's not the one from Michael Jackson's "Thriller," though; maybe it's Adam Ant?) and the people with feathers in their hair but can't place their videos.

Also, Prodigy's "Firestarter" prominently samples the girl's "Hey!" from Art of Noise's "Close (To the Edit)." I suspect that musical connection inspired the pairing of those groups in the show.

Another one. The orphans' chant, "Always to wash behind one's ears! Always to brush before bedtime!" is a reference to the chanted laws of the animal-men in The Island of Doctor Moreau:

"Not to go on all-fours; that is the Law. Are we not Men?
"Not to suck up Drink; that is the Law. Are we not Men?
"Not to eat Fish or Flesh; that is the Law. Are we not Men?
"Not to claw the Bark of Trees; that is the Law. Are we not Men?
"Not to chase other Men; that is the Law. Are we not Men?"

Sweet I was hoping someone would give me all those references :P I knew they existed but I am sadly not very familiar with music videos (from any time period, really) so I can never place them.
