I got the impression that Phantom Limb wasn't involved with The Guild of Calamitous Intent until after his arms and legs became invisible as that seemed to be when he completed his transformation into a villain.

He may not have been a full-time member, but he clearly had some ties to them. Otherwise, why would he have the cuff links? And why would they supply him with the radioactive material for his experiment?

You know, it's possible that the radioactive materials really WERE provided by The Guild of Collegiate Investors, and it's just a very funny coincidence.

He obviously did have some connection to the Guild of Calamitous Intent, but remember, Bryan, that Brock and Hunter assumed he was a recruiter...not a supervillain. That, I guess, came after the "botched experiment that made him evil."

Yeah, recruiter seems more likely considering his deformed student-base, but I still don't think he would've worked with The Guild of Calamitous Intent at all until he was full-blown evil instead of just highly frustrated.

I like to think that he really was just with The Guild of Collegiate Investors and that Brock and Hunter's meddling resulted in his subsequent supervillainy.

What would be even funnier would be that he wasn't a recruiter for the Guild of Calamitous Intent at all, but Gathers and Brock thought he was, and all those deformed students in Prof. Fantomas' class were actually informants working for OSI!
