AS February Schedule

Well happy new year, everyone. Hope your holiday season was pleasant. If not, maybe next year, huh? Some minor VB news, but mainly AS news, here's the upcoming AS weekend schedule starting in February, with much thanks to livingfruitvirus:

Sunday
11:00pm - Family Guy
11:30pm - Tom Goes to the Mayor
11:45pm - Sealab 2021
12:00am - Robot Chicken
12:30am - ATHF
12:45am - Birdman
1:00am - Venture Bros.
1:30am - Home Movies

Saturday
11:00pm - Futurama
11:30pm - Fullmetal Alchemist
12:00am - GitS: Stand-Alone Complex
12:30am - Inuyasha
1:00am - Cowboy Bebop

So you'll note that VB reruns move to 1am on Sundays now. Some of you may have also noticed the new shows in '05 holiday bump that looked something (or exactly) like this:

New Shows in 2005

The extreme lack of Venture Brothers is of course, no doubt, upsetting, but do not forget Jackson Publick's words to TV Tome (since taken down, but once something on the internet it's there forever):

The way things stand right now, they probably will not have done the ratings assessment nor the financial assessment necessary to make any decisions about a greenlight until at least January, when the shows have all re-aired.

So, perhaps we will hear some news about season 2 this month.

Christmas Re-Airing and T-Shirts!

Quick update to mention that A Very Venture Christmas will be re-airing tonight at 12:15am EST, so those of you who missed it the first time can catch it again. Also Jackson updated his journal with more t-shirt news and also that Doug Lovelace will be putting up some art he made for the Christmas special, so keep checking his page for that (doesn't seem to be up as of this writing).

Christmas Capsule + Ratings

As promised, A Very Venture Christmas has been capsuled and noted and the cast list finalized. That's the last of that for a while (but hopefully not forever) though I will continue to poke around the page content from time to time. By the way I thought I should mention that I do make changes almost daily, but I don't update the main page about them because they're not usually very important. For the latest changes you can click here for my changelog. There's also a link at the bottom of every page if you happened to notice.

Speaking of the end of the new episodes, you should note that last week's showing of Tag Sale pulled in 540k viewers which is the second most the show has ever gotten, and the fourth time the ratings have gone over 500k, so things continue to look good. Merry Xmas to you all if I don't update again before then, and if you don't celebrate then, uh, too bad.

Merry Xmas, Xmas Guys!

Just a friendly reminder that the Venture Bros. Xmas episode airs tonight at 11:45pm (EST) and again later at 2:45am (which is technically the 20th). There also won't be an episode shown at the usual time on Saturday due to Xmas programming, so the next time you'll be able to catch a half-hour episode is on January 1st. Also, remember to watch! And tell your friends to watch too!

Capsulation Complete!

Just a quick note that episode 111 has been capsuled and noted. This means that all the previously played episodes have been capsuled and noted for your viewing/reading pleasure, so view/read away! The Christmas episode airs in less than 24 hours as well (in fact in exactly 24 hours the second showing will be ending), and I'll probably have that done within a couple days as long as it isn't a busy time of the year. Which it is. Well, you'll live.

Christmas Comes Early

Ho, ho, ho! Resident Atlantean (uh, Atlantaer...) and AS fan, livingfruitvirus pointed out this sweet mp3 which is a wacky conversation between the Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend, followed by them singing The Little Drummer Boy or whatever the proper name of the song is. Also if any of you missed it, be sure to check out this from last month, which is two phone calls from the Monarch, recorded right from prison!

Rub

Not really VB news, but VB related at least. Head over to IGN FilmForce to download a short film by Venture Bros. writer Doc Hammer entitled Rub, which is a short told in the style of silent films from way back when.

Trial of the Monarch Capsule

It's late. Or is it early? I can't tell any more. Anyway, just a quick note that the capsule for Trial of the Monarch is now complete. This leaves me with only one full episode left, which will hopefully be cap'd by the end of the week, and then the Christmas episode. Ratings for last Saturday's showing of Mr. Brisby were lower than previous weeks, but much higher than the ratings the first time the episode was shown. Also good enough for second place behind Futurama.

Yet More Capsules!

Tag-Sale, You're It! and Past Tense capsules and notes have been completed. Actually Tag-Sale was up on the 10th, but I didn't bother to update about it. I only have the last two episodes left to capsule and the Christmas show after it's out. For next season, assuming there is one (I'm getting tired of saying that), I hope to have them capsuled a few days after the episode airs, but I got this site started after the first season ended (or right around when it did end), so I'm playing catch-up. That's it for now kids.

Christmas Cards

If you just can't stand to wait ten more days until the Christmas special, here are some shots from it, including what seems to be a Christmas Carol parody, some sort of wacky monster, Dr. Venture getting his temperature taken (and not in his ear or mouth) and a scale model of the Venture Compound! There's also a description of the show and a couple positive notes from the VP of production at CN. Thanks to USMcD on Toon Zone.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
