BifBangPow! Smaller Action Figures Not Set In Stone

For those of you looking forward to the BifBangPow! 3 3/4" figures revealed at Comic-Con be wary that they are apparently not fully approved yet. Hopefully the outlook is good, but fellow Venture fansite Venture Bros. Blog has an interview with BBP honcho Jason Lenzi where he reveals the following:

Now, as excited as everybody is and I don’t mean to pee in anybody’s internet cornflakes, these are not green lit. We are not definitely going to make these. It all depends on audience interest and cost. With this scale, we are dealing with a different material and we would be doing everything from scratch. Each part of the figure has to have it’s own laser cut mold and it can get very costly. So it’s a question of whether there’s enough support from the fans to make the minimum needed.

So if you want to get your hands on those figures, let them know how excited you are! Also the interview covers many more toy-line type things and you should check it out.

Weird that they'd be up for pre-order if they're not definitely going to be made, though. What's the deal with that?

I'd understand if the page just said "coming soon..." or something, but they have specific pricing details. Not sure how they'd arrive at those figures if they weren't even greenlit.

Not doubting the guy (obviously he would know!) but it still seems a little strange.

I would pay dozens of dollars for a Hatred toy!

Though I do wonder why that even matters. The Hank I bought at Comic-Con has a sticker on the back that says like 1800/3000. If they only made 3000 how the heck will Toys R Us ever get them? Seems way too small scale.

10 months is about average for most productions. South Park just has a really fast turnaround due to the software they use and the fact that almost everything happens in one building. Most shows have a place for storyboarding/writing, another for voice recording, then have the bulk of the animation done somewhere else (usually overseas). After they get that back, they check it for animation errors, any of which are sent back for redoing. Then they score and foley the episode, edit it down for time and any content issues before finally being finished.

April Fools! I learned so much on the website. I had no idea mantids were so awesome; although ghost mantis creeps me out. Also was warned that "mantidies are our lords and masters" and "there is no stopping them" and "recommend buying a flame thrower"...this is all good to know ahead of time. Lisa is a prophet!

Lets help Mike keep the notes section of each episode's page as complete as possible. There are lots of references that are not included on those pages; point out what should be added so Mike can add it!
