Adult Swim Launches Adult Swim App

For those of you with iPhones/iPads/iPods Touches you should know that you can grab the official Adult Swim app from iTunes. The app is basically a mobile version of their site, so it contains all the episodes, clips and info along with other handy stuff like game downloads and more.

Developed in partnership with interactive agency HUGE, the new Adult Swim app also features an interactive programming schedule, so fans can keep track of when their favorite shows are airing, and the ability to share content with friends via Twitter, Facebook and email. The app also includes unexpected features like a clock, artistic wallpapers, weather information, and a calculator, with easter-egg surprises hidden throughout the app for fans to discover. New content will be updated to the app every week and new features will be added throughout the year.

"We didn't want to publish just another video app," said Jeff Olsen, vice-president of Adult Swim digital and games. "We've got great content and a very savvy audience. We wanted something fun and original that was worthy of them both."

Maybe Jeff should have released just another video app. No matter what video you try to watch the video stops about 10 seconds into it but the audio continues.

10 months is about average for most productions. South Park just has a really fast turnaround due to the software they use and the fact that almost everything happens in one building. Most shows have a place for storyboarding/writing, another for voice recording, then have the bulk of the animation done somewhere else (usually overseas). After they get that back, they check it for animation errors, any of which are sent back for redoing. Then they score and foley the episode, edit it down for time and any content issues before finally being finished.

April Fools! I learned so much on the website. I had no idea mantids were so awesome; although ghost mantis creeps me out. Also was warned that "mantidies are our lords and masters" and "there is no stopping them" and "recommend buying a flame thrower"...this is all good to know ahead of time. Lisa is a prophet!

Lets help Mike keep the notes section of each episode's page as complete as possible. There are lots of references that are not included on those pages; point out what should be added so Mike can add it!
