Comic Con Coverage

IGN has a quick article covering the Venture Bros panel. As expected most of the news is about the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release since there isn't a huge amount of info on season four just yet. They are hopeful that episodes will begin sometime later this year, however, so things seem to be on track.

The soundtrack will be available separately from the Blu-Ray set. Excellent news!

There's a way they can have their cake and eat it too, ie, have 24 be really dead, and bring him back anyway: clone him. I'm not saying that's what they are gonna do, just saying that it is a possibility.

From what I've heard it sounds like he's staying dead and they're using his death to do whatever they're going to do with 21. So that could be interesting, we'll see.

I'll be so pissed at them if they don't bring back 24 somehow. What the hell would we do without the duo of 21 & 24? Now think of all the zombie 24's that will be showing up at conventions!

I'm sure that 24 will be shown in alot of flashbacks, so never fear he'll still be here!

Editing video now. Let's just say being in costume all day was more uncomfortable then I imagined. So I missed some bits of the panel, mostly david bowie questions. I got most of it though, I'll probably upload the season 3 deleted scenes first and then the whole panel.

Side note: James Urbaniak wasn't invited to the Con, BUT! It turns out he had some business in NY so he decided to stop by. I caught him outside as he was leaving and we had a nice little chat. Awesomeness

Fan-freakin-tastic. Mostly good news . Obviously still sad about 24 but otherwise sounds great.
O, and nice job on the video, kuiosikle. The extras look great.

Season one is being released in Region 2 on Feb 23, for any UK fans out there:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Venture-Brothers-Season-Adult-Swim/dp/B001MZFU9S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1235059244&sr=8-1

I'll be doing a review of the set as soon as I get a copy from the site I write for, so I'll let you know if there are any differences, no matter how minor.

I'd imagine seasons 2 and 3 will follow relatively closely.

10 months is about average for most productions. South Park just has a really fast turnaround due to the software they use and the fact that almost everything happens in one building. Most shows have a place for storyboarding/writing, another for voice recording, then have the bulk of the animation done somewhere else (usually overseas). After they get that back, they check it for animation errors, any of which are sent back for redoing. Then they score and foley the episode, edit it down for time and any content issues before finally being finished.

April Fools! I learned so much on the website. I had no idea mantids were so awesome; although ghost mantis creeps me out. Also was warned that "mantidies are our lords and masters" and "there is no stopping them" and "recommend buying a flame thrower"...this is all good to know ahead of time. Lisa is a prophet!

Lets help Mike keep the notes section of each episode's page as complete as possible. There are lots of references that are not included on those pages; point out what should be added so Mike can add it!
