Caged Bird Something Something...

I'll make it quick because I don't want to bother you! The Caged Bird notes/capsule/etc are all completed. You guys know the drill!

Also, e-mails. Yeah. I have so many and it is a daunting task. Plus I am kind of lazy with these things. Some day though, I swear. Huge thanks to all of you guys who sent in notes though (I think I say this every week), and don't stop! Catch ya later.

Has anyone else noticed that in the credits of every episode, Kimson Albert, one of the animation directors, has a different, episode-appropriate nickname? Like in "Caged Bird", it's "Kimson 'Magic Murder Bag' Albert", and in VLM, it's "Kimson 'Quiet Desperation' Albert".

The Golden Tongs that Doc Orhpeus tries to capture the Japanese Oni Spirit with unsuccessfully in this episode is I believe a homage-nod to the powerful paranormal instrument used in a story during Grant Morrisons's run of his revamped incarnation of the DC comics "DOom PatROl" series( Issue 43, " Anyhow Stories ", http://www.rpi.edu/~bulloj/Doom_Patrol/issue43.html , and Issue 44, "Voices", http://www.rpi.edu/~bulloj/Doom_Patrol/issue44.html ). In the two comics story arc,It is revealed that the Silver Sugar Tongs are really a facet of a higher-dimensional object, used by a evil subsection of the US military to snare ghosts and make them into supernatural agents-soldiers.

now i thought that dr o's tongs looked more like tweezers. in Hellboy's "Box Full of Evil", he finds some demon tongs and they look much more like fireplace tongs. like what you would use to grab something hot and throw it back into the boiling pitch from whence it came.

I thought H.E.L.P.eR. called Brock's music "cock rock" instead of "jock rock."

Man! Immigrant Song was left of the list of Zep songs with Tolkien refs.

That's because the Immigrant Song is about vikings, not hobbits. :P

yeah, you really gotta streatch to connect "The Immagrant Song" to Tolkien. but it's a definant possiblity i suppose when talking about a band that was influenced by Tolkien as the Zep was.

When #21 cut the cheese after Queen Atheria/Dr. Girlfriend went off to save the Monarch, did anybody catch where "Oh, Thank the maker!" came from? No? Well, itsyet another STAR WARS reference! I think it's one of C-3P0's lines.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
