... or a Blu-Ray. Jackson updated with some tidbits about the upcoming season and how it's coming in two parts. He also included a nifty new background painting for immediate consumption (do not take painting orally). Also he notes that you really should buy the season three DVD and/or Blu-Ray because that would make him happy, and when he's happy, you're happy. Capisce?

Aww, I'm totally jealous of the inside artwork on the DVD version! I got the Blu-ray and its tiny and crappy.

No official word yet, but season 1 & 2 were just released in region 2 (like two weeks ago I think) so season three is probably not too far behind.

I'm pretty disappointed by the lack of special features. Only commentary and deleted scenes. I guess the soundtrack coming out makes up for it though.

Yeah that's mostly due to them not having any time. They were working on the DVD during the end of season three's production and into season four's. With previous seasons there's been a year or more of waiting before the next season is approved to start working on but this time season 3 and 4 were greenlit at the same time. So there you end up with the choice of making an awesome DVD or delaying season four and I can't say I disagree too much with the decision. Sometimes priorities and obligations mess things up but at least we get new episodes in late 2009 instead of late 2010.
