a friend of mine worked there during the early years, like 2000-2004 and this is just how they operate. The issue then was that the turn-around on new episodes was so long they would air them in short drawn out spurts, so you would see the same 4 or 5 SeaLab , Aqua Teen, and Brak Shows for weeks at a time. I think even the "new" Aqua Teen episodes were all actually made like a year ago.
I see how this works for them with the random shows that don't have any form of continuity, but in regards to shows like VB and even Metalocalypse (they do try to have story) that are actually "going somewhere" so to speak with episodes it takes the wind out of their sails a tad. I think the M.O with those shows is when the episodes are done, they should be aired as close together as possible.
