"Art of the Venture Bros" Art Book Officially Announced by Dark Horse

It was laready mentioned by Jackson and Doc last Comic-Con, but Dark Horse has formally announced The Art of the Venture Bros., a huge art book chock full of Venture history.

This massive coffee table book includes original artwork, character designs, storyboards, painted backgrounds, and props from every episode of The Venture Bros. to date, with accompanying commentary on the development of the series from cocreators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer!

Check out the earliest sketches of all your favorite Venture Bros. characters and the genesis of the ideas that became some of the show’s funniest episodes.

To top it off, comedian Patton Oswalt pens a very special foreword!

The book will be on sale starting October 22nd this year, and you can already pre-order it on Amazon for under $30 (the price seems to be fluctuating, it's $27.25 right now).

Excellent! ALSO OTHER BIG NEWS

https://pressroom.turner.com/us/adult-swim/adult-swim-enters-upfront-1#.U21rBPldWSp

THE VENTURE BROS. SPECIAL - Space. The final frontier, where no one can hear you scream, revenge is only served cold, and the drinks are comped in the casino. Join the Ventures--and pretty much everyone they've ever crossed paths with--as they rocket to the Gargantua-2 space station for an epic, hour-long adventure that will change the Ventureverse as we know it forever. Created and directed by Jackson Publick and written by Publick and Doc Hammer, both of whom also provide voices for the special, The Venture Bros. Special is being animated by Titmouse, Inc. The half-hour animated special premieres on Adult Swim later this year.

This must be the "big epic setting with a lot of characters together" Jackson and Doc have talked about!!

Two questions: Is this an hour or only 30 minutes? The press release says both.
And is Titmouse animating this in house/ in studio, or will it be animated like 'almost' all the other episodes to date?

I'm gonna assume a full hour, if this is the premiere they've been hyping up (they said S6 will have an hour long opener and closer), and I'm just gonna hope that it's a typo that it will be a half hour, and also hope that it will be animated overseas because I don't want to watch an hour of flash animated VB (no offense to the fine folks at Titmouse's animation team)

I couldn't have said it better Hank.
I totally concur, and assume/hope the exact same.

The episode was written around Halloween according to Jackson in the new commentaries and is huge.
And this is the true season V finale, as stated by Doc.
I assume this means it will be like animated like normal.

Yes! Me! WTF is going on? It now says they're having trouble finding stock (on UK Amazon), and my pre-order was cancelled. It looks like maybe the release date has been put back, but I can't find anything official. Any advance on this non-info?

Redditers dug up it being listed as "cancelled" in this DH publish forecast list. Some Amazon orders say 2016?

Honestly, I'm just going to contact Dark Horse. I did that before on another title that I wasn't sure had ever been printed and they actually got back to me about it.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
