News From Dragon*Con

A website called gaijINside (which I have never heard of until today, sorry guys) has posted some thoughts and such from the Dragon*Con panel. 12 minutes of Handsome Ransom (the first episode written for the new season, but not the premiere) were shown, as well as a Q&A.

Patrick Warburton is signed on for this season, some back story including who or what Dr. Orpheus was married to, and some focus on the villain Monstroso.

If you do decide to read the rest of the article note that it contains spoilers pertaining to Handsome Ransom, so if you want to be surprised you might want to skip reading it. Suffice to say it sounds pretty good.

Season Four: Starting October 18th

Adult Swim updated their long-term schedule (many thanks to Henchman #17 in the comments and Kuiosikle on Twitter for pointing that out before I did my daily check) with the premiere of season four which will occur at midnight on October 18th (okay, technically that's the 19th, but only by like a minute). That's the night of Sunday if this after midnight malarkey still confounds you. So mark your calenders and get ready. No word on which episode will be airing yet, nor any names, but I'm sure in time all will be revealed.

Jackson & Doc Panel at Dragon*Con '09

As is the trend, there will be a Jackson and Doc themed Venture Bros. panel at Dragon*Con this year. According to Adult Swims's DC page the panel will be at 1pm on Saturday, Sept. 5th followed by a signing 90 minutes later (that's 2:30pm for those of you not so good at math). No word on if Jackson and Doc will be the only panel members or if they'll have friends such as the esteemed James Urbaniak and/or Michael Sinterniklaas. Dragon*Con takes place from September 4th until the 7th in Atlanta.

Coming to a YouTube Near You

While this may or may not affect Venture Bros., it's worth noting that Time Warner has signed a deal with Google to start showing (among other things) Adult Swim clips and shows on YouTube. Sadly it will be for US viewers only, the same deal as Adult Swim Video, but you can't win them all I guess. It's notable that this would potentially be a place to catch the HD version of Venture Bros., something AS Video currently lacks.

Official Season Four Trailer

Adult Swim has finally posted the Venture Bros. Season 4 preview from Comic-Con. Hooray! You can watch it below, and enjoy the insanity!

Official Comic-Con Video

After much waiting you can finally view an official version of the San Diego Comic-Con panel from last month. AS.com has put up almost 12 minutes of footage for your viewing pleasure. Sadly it doesn't include the season four preview, but that will probably follow shortly. You can watch it below:

Brock's New Job

Is apparently Cheese & Burger Society narrator. Okay not quite, it's really just Patrick Warburton, but I'll be damned if he's not doing his Brock voice. I also really want a burger now. Yes, it's a slow news day.

Quick Toonzone Interview

Toonzone put up a Comic-Con interview with Jackson and Doc with nothing too in-depth, though there's some nuggety goodness in there:

Toonzone: So has some time passed?

Jackson Publick: Yeah. I think the premiere is 9 months out of the last episode of last season. But how do they develop? Doctor Venture takes a more active role in trying to train Dean to be a super scientist like himself.

Toonzone: And Hank will be more of a badass like Brock?

Jackson Publick: Hank would love to be more of a badass, but no one loves him enough. Dermot loves him enough.

Toonzone: What about Dermot?

Doc Hammer: Fortunately we're bringing Dermot back.

LA Weekly Interviews Doc (and Jackson)

Rounding off a robust night of news we have a Comic-Con interview with Doc and Jackson in LA Weekly where Doc says a whole lot and Jackson not much. However the interview is great and comes complete with hilarious pictures, plus there's mention of a Chubby Riddler in there too, so you know it's a winner.

Oh also I put up a new poll that has nothing to do with this article but I thought I'd mention it.

Sensationalist Headline: Jackson Talks Dicks

After an extra-special weekend at Comic-Con, Jackson has a new LJ update. He briefly goes over Comic-Con (check out unofficial YouTubes of that here) and the panel, as well as a new set of production stills:

Even though we've barely begun post-production on the first half of The Venture Bros. Season 4, we start production on the second half of Season 4 at 10am EST, when the entire design department returns from their long hiatus to start making the magic again. It will undoubtedly be a hellish few months ahead, what with editing the first eight episodes while writing and directing the next eight, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Oh, and in case you needed extra confirmation:

P.P.S....
Whoever's twittering (tweeting?) as jacksonpublick is NOT me.

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
