Adult Swim Comic-Con Panel on July 23rd

For those of you who have been waiting for the big news, this year's San Diego Comic-Con panel will be on Friday, July 23rd at 4:30pm. It doesn't sound like there will be a dedicated Venture Bros. panel this time as there has been previously, but this one will include the creators of Robot Chicken and Metalocalypse as well. Exciting!

4:30-5:30 Adult Swim Panel Featuring Robot Chicken, Venture Bros, and Metalocalypse - Show creators Seth Green, Matt Senreich, and Tom Root (Robot Chicken), Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer (Venture Bros), and Brendon Small (Metalocalypse) discuss their original series, screen sneak peeks, and answer questions. Keith Crofford, VP of production at Adult Swim, will moderate. Room 6BCF

Plus it's also worth noting that Brendon Small is a regular contributor to the show and Seth Green has done a guest voice as well. Have fun to all attending!

Geek Out: With Your Host Doc Hammer

Doc Hammer has updated his MySpace (yes, MySpace) with some geeky geek info for you to geek out about. If you ever wanted to know basically everything about the Guild of Calamitous Intent and its many logos then this is the update for you!

This group was formed out of the ashes of the "The Orb Fellowship", but all that remains of the Orb itself are legends and legacy. (Later picked up by a Phantom Limb in a desperate attempt to regain his power.) The Guild was not interested some ancient Tinker Toy; the Guild was interested in power. They had power in their allegiance, and they intended to use it.

Comic-Con 2010 Happenings

According to Bif Bang Pow! all of their upcoming (July 22nd - 25th) Comic-Con 2010 exclusives will be at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343) which includes the Henchmen 21 and 24 figures. On top of that if you stop by the booth between 4:30pm and 6pm on the 24th you can meet Jackson and Doc and get them to sign the figures or maybe your chest if you are attractive enough (but don't push it, you're probably better off trying for the figures):

The Venture Bros. Fans can now own the first-ever line of action figures from Adult Swim's The Venture Bros., created in conjunction with EMCE Toys, and get their figures signed by The Venture Bros.' creators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer at the show! Debuting at Comic-Con will be highly articulated, retro-style figures of Dr Venture, Brock Samson, The Monarch, and Dean Venture, as well as two SDCC Exclusives: Henchman Number 21 and Henchman Number 24. All six 8-inch figures bring sensational detail and authentic fabric clothing, and each captures that distinctive action-comedy mix that's synonymous with the top-rated television series. ($20 each)

There will also be a Venture Bros. panel, though the programming schedule for the convention won't be released for another couple of weeks.

Potential Season 4.2 Start: September 12th?

Astute observers (hi, Hardy!) in the last update noted that while Venture Bros. episodes are absent from August, there is a single episode on the schedule, namely Pinstripes & Poltergeists which airs at 11:30pm on September 5th. With that being the season 4.1 finale, it's possible Adult Swim may be airing it a week prior to the start of season 4.2 as a kind of refresher. Purely speculation for now, but it's certainly possible.

Your Future Is Murky

Taking a peek at the newly released Adult Swim Schedule which runs through September 5th, Venture Bros. is oddly absent from the schedule in spite of the previously announced August 22nd start date. What does this all mean? Well not much since the AS schedule changes all the time, and the August 22nd date was never finalized. However if the schedule holds we won't be seeing new episodes until mid-September at the very earliest though keep in mind that it's only a few weeks difference at this point.

Brock's Head Doesn't Bobble

Okay actually it does. First shots of the big guy are here on Toy News International (or at least that's where I found them). A couple shots of Brock himself plus the packaging we've already seen from Dr. O's reveal. Only, uh, a bunch more left!

Do Not Be Too Hasty Entering That Room

Venture Bros. Blog has an peek at another Bif Bang Pow! original, the Dr. Orpheus bobblehead. Fancy! As with the others it's up for pre-order on Entertainment Earth for a mere $12.99. This is also a first glance at the packaging for the bobble-heads, which is quite nice looking.

There's also a Brock Samson bobblehead for pre-order, but no photos seem to exist for it just yet. Intriguing.

Update (6/19 12:30pm): The back of the packaging has been posted along with the front now, revealing the full set of bobble heads which includes the full cast of expected characters plus a few variants like Classic Dr. Girlfriend and 'Atlantean Dr. Venture'. Intriguing. Jason Lenzi also kindly responded to my question, saying to keep an eye out for the Brock bobble head, coming to an internet-based web site near you.

Animation Auctions Up on eBay

As promised the previously mentioned and completed animation auctions are now continuing in eBay auction form. So head on over to bid on some great pieces of Venture Bros. production art and help contribute to a good cause.

Update (7/4/2010): The initial set of auctions have ended but a few extras are still up if you want to contribute!

Animation Auction for Gulf Coast Relief

Thomas Bayne sends along word that he's started up a site to auction off Venture Bros. production art with the proceeds going to the Colbert Nation Gulf of America Fund. There's tons of really great art up there and all proceeds go to a good cause that (hopefully) everyone can get behind. Sadly I picked a bad weekend to go on vacation with no internet access, so the auctions all appear to be finished now, but there's still lots that can be done if you're interested, so head on over to show your support.

Update (11:22pm):

Tom sends along the following info pertaining to the auctions:

The first sale sold out fast. I've spent this weekend organizing a bigger ebay auction that will hopefully include work from other shows as well as VB. But before it can get fully off the ground, I need to clear some things with ebay. ... there's just a few formalities that need formalized, and then we're off!

In the meantime, I have put one item up. Stay tuned at coughcoughwheeze.com/help -- I'll be updating it as soon as the next thing happens.

So stay tuned kids! I'll have fresh info on this as it becomes available of course!

Packaged Figure Shots

Sorry I'm a tad late with this, but in case you missed it a couple of sites have shots of the fully packaged Venture Bros. figures:

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!

I haven't seen a press release yet, but people on reddit say June 4, 2019 is when Season 7 is on bluray. https://www.reddit.com/r/venturebros/comments/b14aa2/june_4_2019/
