Raffle Drawing: January 2nd

Mark your calendars because you're in for a bumpy ride! Wait, what? Okay due to insane scheduling I've decided to delay the holiday-themed raffle drawing until 7pm eastern (4pm pacific) on January 2nd, as the headline implies. That is mostly final though it could change yet again but I'll try to stick with it. Of course you can still grab a ticket every six hours up until the the drawing, so get yours by heading over to the contest page. Many a Venture Bros. bobble head shall be won.

Raffle Drawing Delayed!

Unforeseen consequences ended up being pretty obvious as I'm currently on a train right now (half hour after the drawing was scheduled) so the Mantis-Eye holiday-themed raffle drawing is delayed at least until tomorrow, possibly longer. Fear not, however, because you can still grab a new ticket every six hours up until the drawing. So if you haven't, get going!

Let's Watch: Self-Medication

The final of Jackson's favorite episodes airs tonight at 10pm, the season four episode "Self-Medication". This is also the last Venture Bros. episode of the year and the last one to air at 10pm because next week Adult Swim starts their 9pm kickoff with the first episode of season one, "Dia de los Dangerous!". This will also probably be the last regular "Let's Watch" on the site, though I will probably bring it back every so often for the most popular episodes (and my favorites). Enjoy!

Oh yeah, don't forget to keep getting your raffle tickets!

Christmas Song Guide

I put this up last night but only mentioned it on Twitter, so I put up a guide to the Holiday Havoc Christmas songs which includes info about the original song and any info relevant to the Venture Bros. version. It was mainly sparked by the latest track which contains a number of references (more than any other song), so if you were curious about anything then you should check it out.

Breaking News: This Year's Christmas Song En Route

Another Update: Grab and/or listen to it!

Update: The song will premiere tonight live on FRED! Click the link below to listen in. The show starts at 9pm! Enjoy! If you can't make it Ken will probably put the song up for download a little later.

FRED Live!

Original: Ken Plume just tweeted that Jackson and Doc have passed off this season's Christmas song to him, though no word on when he's going to release it. Word on the street (Twitter) is that it's a whopping seven minutes long too. However if you simply can't wait then maybe the previous Venture Bros. holiday songs will tide you over in the meantime. Those are hosted on FRED, Ken's site about TV, movies and that sort of thing. If you're in the Holiday mood you might even want to show your support for FRED by throwing Ken a couple of bucks. The man tirelessly puts out some high quality content, it's totally worth it! No pressure of course. I'll let you know when the song goes up.

A Very Venture Christmas? On The Internet!?

The folks running the old Adult Swim website have been kind enough to put the episode "A Very Venture Christmas" up in full, so now you can revive your new favorite Christmas tradition (and maybe even follow along)! If you recall last year it wasn't up and we had to make due but not this year! No sir, no eating shoes and pretending that it's turkey this year! We've hit it big! Have a great weekend, regardless of what you celebrate!

It's A Christmas Eve Miracle!

Short update at Jackson's LJ. It's late and I'm tired so I'll just post the relevant parts. The Christmas song:

Keep checking that page, and by tomorrow night you'll receive a gift of musical holiday cheer, courtesy of Shallow Gravy and friends. And in the meantime, you can open all the other stocking stuffers you find there, from many of our entertainment super-pals, including one by James "Dr. Venture" Urbaniak himself!

Oh, but wait, that's not enough for you? Okay fine, how about this:

I promised "news" the last time I was here. And though I'm not at liberty to disclose the full details just yet, I am happy to at least be able to tell you that we were not lying in the end credits of our season finale: The Venture Bros. will indeed return. More on that later... Happy Holidays!

I've pretty much copied and pasted his entire post at this point but you should still go there anyway. And remember, the Christmas song will appear!

Extra Flowers

It's a Christmas miracle! In what can only be described as an incredible display of holiday generosity, tomorrow (December 24th) and the day after that (you may have heard of it, December 25th) will be a two-for-one deal on holiday-themed raffle tickets! So whenever you sign up for a new ticket you will get two for those glorious 48 hours! Remember, you are elegible for a new ticket six hours after you grab your last one, so head over to the contest page to pick up your most recent ticket if you haven't already. Lots of Venture Bros. bobble heads to be won!

Double-ticket days will begin at midnight eastern time tonight (technically the 24th, also equals 9pm on the 23rd pacific time) and end midnight pacific time on the 25th, which is 3am eastern on the night of the 25th (technically the 26th).

Let's Watch: The Doctor Is Sin

It's time for this week's Let's Watch! Tonight's episode is the classic Killinger episode, "The Doctor Is Sin" which you can watch tonight at 10pm eastern and pacific time (it will also not be reairing later in the night, so that's the only chance you have to see it). Did you know that the first half of this episode aired on April 1st, 2008, two months before the episode's premiere, in a rough-cut format without any music or sound effects? True fact! Feel free to use the comments to talk about the episode or the show in general, and have fun!

It's The Mantis-Eye Holiday Raffle!

Well, it's not really a raffle. It's kind of a raffle. But it is holiday-themed, somehow. Either way you can enter to win some Venture Bros. bobble heads (and a mug) and in the true spirit of a raffle you can enter multiple times to increase your chance for prizes (once every six hours). Check out the contest page for the full skinny:

The Mantis-Eye Holiday-Themed Raffle

Also as an added bonus I will (probably) be doing a live drawing on UStream, though I'm not sure why. Watching the stream is not required if you win, but at the very least you'll get to see me stare awkwardly into space while I try and figure out what to say. The contest tentatively ends December 28th at 7pm EST. Tentative because I will be on vacation in New York and I have no idea what my schedule will be. Have fun and good luck!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
