Don't Even Try To Not Read Sluggo As Patrick Warburton

Part three of Jackson Publick Presents: Chris McCulloch's Re-Gifting is up for your viewing pleasure. Today's re-gift is called "Pet My Danger" and hails from 2001's Viva La Monkeysuit!, which is volume three of the Monkeysuit series. This one involves some talking animals and a rabbit named Sluggo who may or may not be a precursor to Brock Samson. And if you missed them you can catch parts one and two from the past two days. More to come? Stay tuned to find out!

Jackson Publick's Re-Gifting: Part Two

The promised second part of a multi-part gifting fest, Jackson has unleashed his second re-gift. This one is only a single-page comic he did for In Search of Monkeysuit back in 2003, right when production of season one of Venture Bros. was beginning. Enjoy!

"Oh! To Be Super..." by Chris McCulloch

Jackson Publick has a holiday surprise for everyone. Thanks to some wintertime spring cleaning he has unearthed a seven page comic he authored back in The Year 2000. It's called "Oh... To Be Super!" and it was originally in the The Bride of Monkeysuit: Monkeysuit, Volume II along with eleven other stories. Head over to Jackson's blog to read the full comic and prepare yourselves for more awesome since this is part one of what I can only assume will be at least two parts. Maybe more!

The Rusty Gear Fan Convention

The Rusty Gear is a brand new fan-run conference set to kick off in late June of next year. The focus is on two Adult Swim series, The Venture Bros. and Metalocalypse. It's an interesting and perhaps specific idea for a convention, but if you find yourself around Natick, MA next year (or have the means to get there) you could potentially be a presenter at it. The conference is entirely fan-run and fan-dedicated:

We are currently welcoming programming proposals. We would like to see them run their own discussion panels, how-to-workshops, performances, really just about anything they can think of, to make this a truly fan-centered conference. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2012.

Full Podcast of Ask Jackson and Doc

I've finally gotten around to editing and cutting together a podcast version of the Ask Jackson & Doc interview I did around NYCC. If you've already seen the video version this one is the same except with additional content stuck in the middle. Learn the answers to all the questions you've had in your head for ages! How is Jackson's dog? How many suits does Doc own? What is their snack food of choice? All this and more in a very special Mantis-Eye podcast with Jackson & Doc answering your questions. Well, maybe not your question specifically, but they answered questions that people sent me. Enjoy!

You'll also get an achievement for entering, because why not? Head over to enter The Between Seasons Autographed Jacket EP Giveaway! You probably won't regret it!

Full-Length Venture Bros. NYCC Panel Video

Via their YouTube Adult Swim has posted the full-length Venture Bros. panel from New York Comic Con for those interested. This is the unedited and uncut version from the panel and not the shortened version from last month from Adult Swim Video. Enjoy!

Welcome To The New Mantis-Eye Experiment!

As you may be able to tell the site has gone through a few changes. This is the latest and what I hope is the greatest version of The Mantis-Eye Experiment. The goal was to make the site better organized and a little easier to navigate and also to find a home for the various pieces of content that I've compiled over the last seven years. One of the most major changes you may notice is that you can now sign up for an account which will allow you a couple of perks such as being able to rate comments and earn achievements. Also for all sorts of general discussion (Venture Bros. related or otherwise) stop by the community section and say hi. As always, you don't need an account to post comments, but having one certainly makes you more awesome! Feel free to comment with your thoughts on the changes and anything else on your mind. Thanks guys!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
