In These Venture-less Times, Watch The SDCC 2014 Panel

Since the show, and by extension this site, is on hiatus (or semi-hiatus), I forgot to post this when it actually came out. Back in late July San Diego Comic-Con happened and Jackson, Doc and James were all there doing a panel:

Plenty of info in there about the upcoming special as well as season six, or just fun banter between the three guys, if that's your bag (and it should be, because why wouldn't it be?).

During a special bonus commentary track on the Rick and Morty Blu-ray, Robert Kirkman (creator of the Walking Dead) randomly rips into the Venture Bros. and calls it a pile of sh!t and really goes on and on about how it's a sculpted pile of horse sh!t.

It was soo random and vulgar, that is didn't matter if it was just merely in jest.

Jackson or Doc Hammer really need to address how shitty TWD is now in the new season of Venture Bros.

Just saying.

Clearly what Kirkman was trying to say is "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub"!!! ;)

EDIT RETRACTED due to being incorrect. Kneejerk reactions ahoy!

Also was the sizzle reel from that panel the same one as the space trailer from a few months ago?

The sizzle reel is The Guild PSA clip.

Kirkman is a fan of the show and I believe the Walking Dead comics have even referenced Venture Bros a few times. I haven't listened to the commentary in question but I assume it's delivered tongue firmly in cheek.

It was in jest, I already said that. But he was serious in that he was saying all other Adult Swim shows are shit compared to Rick and Morty... especially the once great Venture Bros.

How about the fact they were scheduled for a panel at NYCC(their home turf), and Adult Swim totally did not make an announcement about them not being there. They just had Robot Chicken start their panel like nothing had happened.

That's an easy one... Jackson and Doc are probably working on the special and season six constantly now, they most likely cancelled any previously scheduled appearances.
Which is sooooo legit if that's the case, as it may very well be.

I'm just more curious if season six will be the last now. Just b/c Jackson and Doc want to keep it going... CN/WB/Turner may not see it as a profitable enough show overall for another five years to get additional seasons made and aired by 2020.
Also Jackson's mentioned how this season will be the big payoff for certain running story threads, which could lead into a naturally organic series finale, in a final seventh season. If the show does in fact get renewed after six is made and aired.

The T.V. tides are changing, that's for sure. Even more so, if they do a season seven and eight... will they even get dvd/ bluray releases in the next five years??
Probably not. Digital download will have killed disc media by 2020.
And I love the commentary as much as the episodes, so I'd be so sad with new episodes but no new blu-rays to watch them on.

Also won't Ben Edlund want Jackson and maybe even Doc to write on the new "The Tick" series if it gets picked up by Amazon in 2015/2016?

The futures seems very uncertain now indeed, but.... it always is I suppose, that's why it's the future.

So... here's to seven or eight seasons of Venture Bros. and a movie all available on blu-ray in the future!
CHHEERS!

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
