It's, Uh, October Madness!

Continuing this extremely long Five Years of Mantis-Eye thing I wanted to make thing for the site that would be light-hearted but kind of fun and goofy. Since the great equalizer for varying levels of geekitude is the good old "who would win in a fight?" question I thought this would be a good idea. What we have here is your basic bracket of baddies from the world of The Venture Bros., all laid out and ready to be voted on the non-discerning Mantis-Eye reader. You can vote on each battle once per hour (based on IP) and each round lasts for three days, ending at noon eastern time (with the next one beginning after a slight delay while I generate them). So go get started! Tell your best pals! May the best villain win!
I'm going to be very disappointed if this doesn't come down to David Bowie vs. Phantom Limb.

Some of these brackets are weighted though. I mean, I understand that's how it works, knock the weaklings out early, but some of my favorites are in brackets they couldn't possibly win. Like Scaramantula- he can't complete with Killinger. Still, we'll see what happens.

Well the weak guys are going to be kicked out early anyway, but that's how brackets work, if you are high ranked you play the weaker dudes first, which leads to stronger matches later on. I did come up with the format first and then selected bad guys and ranked them without looking at who would be fighting who and this is what came out.

I also revised the participants a bit after last week's episode. Super duper obscure guys like 'Joseph and his Technicolor Nightmare Coat' were in there. I couldn't bring myself to kick Manta Claus out though :(

Poor Manta Claus. Someday we'll see how he looks.

Looking at this makes me realize how many cool baddies there are in the show.

Yeah, I thought I'd have trouble finding 32 but it wasn't too hard. I didn't include Girl Hitler or Cataclops because I wasn't sure if they counted any more, plus there are a lot of other guys who are named and seen like Sea Anemone and one or two more major-ish characters (Brisby could be considered one and maybe Molotov). I'm sure in the next couple of episodes there will be some new guys too.

Yeah, Girl Hitler and Catclops don't count anymore I guess.
Brisby would be so easy to beat. Just make him sit in front of a Chimney
and he will do the rest. Except if it's a team of Brisby and his Companda. That's another story.

Man, Monstroso is big and badass. Watch and Ward are skinny and they only talk and talk and talk. I mean, their job is staring at monitors and they can't even get that right. They are awesome but they wouldn't win. Not a chance.

On Chairman Wow, a lot of Chinamen of high importance were buried with armored soldiers whose bodies calcified with age. There could be millions of these all over the world!

Do any screenshots exist of Mommy Longlegs?
What episode was Tigeriffic in?

Would put black construction workin' MODOK up in the list since hew seemed intriguing, but hey, you cant put em all in there, it would be an all day selection process. I could be getting work done as it is, so I'm glad there is going to be another!

Yes, there are many shots of Mommy Longlegs; she's the black-widow looking character who has red eyes and like 3 sets of arms, and smart money is she's on the Counicl of 13 as well. And Tigeriffic is shown without costume talking to the Monarch in jail at the start of Season 2.

On the subject of good potential bracketeers, any of the assassins from Family That Slays Together would be good or maybe the old SPHINX, the one OSI got rid of.

Mommy Longlegs might be the Natasha "Black Widow" Romanova styled entity of the Spiderman parody coming up.

I am wondering if there is an Inhumans sect that will at some point in the future parody the Fantastic (dysfunctioned) Four that Doc and Jackson put together with the Impossible family. Theyre very interesting folks that inspired Kiss to make costumes, according to Gene Simmons.

How in the world did you set up the bracket? #3 seed in the same bracket as #1? #16-#17 winner faces the #2 seed? #4 doesn't face #5 in the 3rd round? What is this, some kind of European bracket format??

Okay, Venturoos. Here's what ya get for the Extras, at least on the DVD version. I felt it was a little light, but that's just my opinion. Deleted Scenes (as always) - Some are B&W sketches with the dialog, others are animated with the dialog. Ghost in the Pro-Blem - An extended view of the distorted images of events from the Pro-BLEM's point of view. Maybe there are some clues hidden in it if you like frame-by-frame advancing. Maybe not. Sirena Goes Off... - Cristin Milioti ad-libbing way more dialog than the script calls for. Poor Rocco. Promo - Basically the season 7 promo. Maybe there's Easter Eggs to find. I haven't done any extensive searching yet. If anyone finds any feel free to post them here!
