Update of the Century-y-y-y

Jackson's House Of Pancakes And Also Waffles If You Ask Nicely (And Probably Some Venture Bros.) has a big ol' update on this lovely week and some change away from the start of The New Season, otherwise known as the second half of season four. Update includes news that they're almost done cutting together the final episode of the season (which is an hour long for those who missed that news). There's also a collage o' awesome which contains scenes from things seen in the Comic-Con trailer as well as some new stuff (do I spy the return of Girl Hitler? I think I do!).

Also for the completionist in all of us Jackson has been kind enough to reveal the names for all the episodes. These are listed in the order they will air:
  • "The Diving Bell Vs. The Butter-glider"
  • "Pomp & Circuitry"
  • "Every Which Way But Zeus"
  • "Everybody Comes to Hank's"
  • "Bright Lights, Dean City"
  • "Assisted Suicide"
  • "The Silent Partners"
  • "Operation: P.R.O.M."
Note that proper nomenclature dictates you put TV show individual episodes in quotations and the title of the series in italics, even if I don't follow those rules on this site at all times. Now, let the speculation begin!

Two things:

1. Looks like JJ really is making Giganta - 2 (in the stratosphere)

2. seems as though Monstroso wants revenge

1. Beautiful! The still of Gargantua-2 is a really stunning image. I can't believe how beautiful this show is becoming.

2. Good call! I was trying to remember who those red-hooded dudes were.

I also think that "Operation PROM" might have something to do with this:

There don't seem to be any BIG changes in this set. The inking looks slightly better than in the (already great) first half of the season, and everything else seems to be at about the same level. The one closeup of Doc looks just a little bit funky, but that mayyy be because it's based on a slightly older model-- if I'm not mistaken, that outfit premiered in "Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman."

Oh no. There aren't any big changes. Now that I look at it I only find J.j's face and White's face to be just a lil different. Nothing crazy. Not complaining though!

I don't know if that's entirely true, it might just be covered by the helmet. he only has a chinstrap type of deal, like Doc, so it would be hidden in there.

his model does look a little more refined though, which makes sense since we haven't really seen him since season three (maybe very briefly in season 4.1?)

For some reason, "Assisted Suicide" is the one that stuck out to me. Super excited about the premiere coming so soon. The pics look awesome. Can't wait to see Dean try to hack it in the big city.

Ever since I heard it referenced I have been dying to see Uncle JJ's take on Gargantua-2. I hope we see it completed. I bet it is 100 times more futuristic than the old one.

Dean in that small apartment, or cheap hotel room, reminds me of Tom Hanks in Big when he first moved to the city and the payphone was right outside his door.

10 months is about average for most productions. South Park just has a really fast turnaround due to the software they use and the fact that almost everything happens in one building. Most shows have a place for storyboarding/writing, another for voice recording, then have the bulk of the animation done somewhere else (usually overseas). After they get that back, they check it for animation errors, any of which are sent back for redoing. Then they score and foley the episode, edit it down for time and any content issues before finally being finished.

April Fools! I learned so much on the website. I had no idea mantids were so awesome; although ghost mantis creeps me out. Also was warned that "mantidies are our lords and masters" and "there is no stopping them" and "recommend buying a flame thrower"...this is all good to know ahead of time. Lisa is a prophet!

Lets help Mike keep the notes section of each episode's page as complete as possible. There are lots of references that are not included on those pages; point out what should be added so Mike can add it!
