I noticed that too. Maybe because S7 was originally slated for November? Although didn't S6 leave off in the Fall? S7 probably picks up where S6 left off.

IIRC in the S6 commentary they said their original idea for the S6 finale / S7 premiere was to do it during the Thanksgiving parade but they weren't sure if the timing would work when it gets released, so maybe something like that?

Also, it might be their first white Christmas. I doubt they ever got real snow at the compound.

Yes but look @ some of the episodes, the mountain tops in the background have snow on them.
