Total nerd alert here.   For those of you who really are completely obsessed with this show, I need some help.
Does anyone have a good idea of the layout of the Venture compound?  I've been working on a scale model in Sketchup8 and have been noticing some discrepancies in certain locations.

I know they did a concept overhaul, from season 1&2 to Season 3&4.  The compound was very boxy and tall before.  Now, and since seasons 3&4 the main building and corridor resembles the 1964 GM World's fair exhibit. (Which I like better, because the compound is sleeker, and more coherent in its design. Rather than being a big stalky splotch of windows and shapes.)

Example 1:  The Venture bathroom seems to change its orientation. The doors to it have been: from the boy's room, Rusty's room, and the hall way. But its orientation changes from time to time. Example 2: The X-1 Hangar location seems to be lucid as well. There are 2 hangars, one near the venture home, and another out back of the compound near the airstrip.
I realize that it's just a show, and crazy to pick it apart.   If anything, it can give a nod to the outrageous quality in the background artwork for this show.  And for some of you, highlight the unique depth that goes into making every detail.  I love this show violently, but hey, if you want to tell me: "hey guy, that's just a little crazy, so just put the banana down pal."   lol But, I'm just looking for a little input

I 'friend' of mine applied something similar to our university campus, which was then used as a 'doom' level, it was kinda fun stalking the campus in first person shooter mode, then waxing the occupants of the tutors rooms...Man that made me sound like a nut job. But it would interesting to wander through the venture compound or even the cucoon, I sure it would have other applications...But after all its a great show and I feel that the minor lack of coherence in the compound layout doesn't effect the enjoyment of the show. Good luck with your project, it would be interesting to see the results.

Thanks. Yeah it would be neat to make a level for it. Some of my friends used to make custom levels for LAN parties. This is more of a reference piece. And it's keeping me sane while we wait for season 5. I don't really know what specifically makes me love this show, other than the great, diverse characters, story line and limitless possibilities that Jason and Doc have made in their venture-verse. I also love the story of the astro base. And how it's been a grassroots project that has heart. Its amazing that these two guys could do so much for the show and 90% of the voices. I find it redeeming how it has been a struggle for this show amd its still here amd even better than ever! And some part of me doesn't want to settle for the crap shows that are out there and popular. I will not name them. But I do wish that the show was more known. It's a gem for original humor, story and art. And now days, I think we need more of that.

I'd have to say I always imagined the compound in the American West but not sure I can get much more specific than pine forests next to scrub land.

And keep us up to date on the work Hat_man! I know I am interested to find out more about the compound, orientation, styling, etc. as well.
