Mysteriously a few days ago in the Season 3 DVD/Blu-Ray/Soundtrack discussion a mysterious commenter only known as 'nobody to do with the soundtrack' (which may be the truth, but could also be lies) posted this message which included a link to a zip file containing two tracks not on the CD (apparently cut from the final version). I didn't want to post this on April Fool's day (even though I didn't think of a gag this year, sorry) so I'm posting it now. They're much lighter tracks than most of what's on the soundtrack, but still worth having. Enjoy!

JG Thirlwell - 'G Show Theme' (?) 2:40
JG Thirlwell - 'Instructional Video' (?) 1:23
Download Tracks (4.63mb):
Mirror #1
Mirror #2

Also for those of you still on the fence about buying the full soundtrack, Adult Swim.com has a couple samples up that may sway your opinion.

I'm glad you posted it; I was kind of afraid to download without confirmation of what it was.

Definitely a nice addition to the soundtrack. I am utterly gobsmacked that the battle theme from The Lepidopterists didn't make the cut, though!

Any mysterious commenters want to pop in and post that one? :P

Sorry Phil. I may be mysterious but can't help you there.

Anyway, glad to have the additional tracks. Also, wasn't the 'Instructional Video' music the background music for one of the DVD menus? I think it was Season 2 but I'd have to check.

Season 1 I think. And it's from the testicular torsion public service message.

Most certainly season two, but it is from the Testicular Torsion PSA at the end of "Are you There God, It's Me Dean"

I just remembered at work today that it was first used in Careers in Science for the Gargantua One slideshow at the begining. Why working in an old brick mill building constructed in the mid 1800's would make me think of a space station is beyond me.

"Whoa! Pretzel-bender! Brock's gotta teach me that move."

I think both of them may have been used in season 1/2 DVD menus? I'm not sure though, I need to check. It's perfectly possible that someone just recorded the DVD menus and uploaded them, who knows? :P

Fantastic! Thanks for posting, Mike and mysterious commenter.

I was pretty bummed that they didn't include the OSI theme or that song they used over the end credits instead of "Tuff" in one episode. I can understand not putting in the OSI one, but the latter was a surprising omission.

Thanks for the tunes! Also, there's a new interview with Jackson Publick at the AV Club:

The "mirror #2" link above seems to work for me. Did you get an error?

hese two tracks may very well have just been taken from dvd menu screens, but still cool to have.

i love the soundtrack but there is an incredible amount of music missing. I think very little of the great sounds of season 3 were included (my count is 2 tracks so far), so i'm thinking and hoping that this means, after season 4, volume 2 will come along with most of the season 3 music on it.

I'm kinda suprised that they left off molotav's theme music, as well as the jungle music from the beginning of"Are You There God?" Then again, there's also Rusty's swanky music fgrom "Mid-life Chrysalis" and the Brisby theme from the beginning of "The Incredible Mr. Brisbee." But all in all, i'm pretty happy with the soundtracks.

Okay, I didn't get the Blu Ray, so I ordered the soundtrack separately - it hasn't come yet, but from listening to previews, there's a key track I love that's missing: the abbreviated montage music from "Invisible Hand of Fate," where the blooms open just as the guitar sounds. You know the one I mean, the one Jackson says they only put in because they wanted something else?

Anyone know where I can find this?
